Certified Premises Cabling Technician(CPCT) is an entry level Fiber Optic Association certification.  It is designed to provide entry-level technicians with the background Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs) to obtain this FOA Certification.  In this course, participants will learn the fundamentals in the following four categories: Cabling Systems Overview, Copper Cabling, Fiber Optic Cabling and Wireless Communications. 

Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) is the primary FOA certification for all fiber optic technicians. This course is designed for anyone interested obtaining the FOA CFOT Certification.  Participants will learn the fundamentals of fiber optic technology, its applications, components, design, installation, connectors, splicing, testing, troubleshooting and the applicable standards and codes. The course also introduces Fiber to the Home (FTTH), and other Fiber to the X (FTTX) Technologies. 

Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/ Outside Plant (CFOS/O) is a Specialist FOA certification for fiber optic technicians wishing to specialize in Outside Plant Cabling. This course is designed for anyone interested obtaining the FOA CFOS/O Certification.  Participants will learn the preparation and installation of OSP Cables, Fusion Splicing for Concatenation and termination and testing with a focus on the OTDR and applications, components, design, installation, splicing, testing, troubleshooting and the applicable standards and codes. The course also includes an overview Fiber to the Home (FTTH), and other Fiber to the X (FTTX) Technologies.
